Symptoms of a UTI

01:20

UTI is one of the most common conditions I diagnose among my female patients and unfortunately many women are familiar with the painful and often annoying symptoms.

The most common symptoms of UTIs are a constant urge to urinate and a burning or stinging sensation when passing water. Urine that appears cloudy, or red, pink or cola-coloured, could mean there is blood in the urine. Pelvic pain is also a common symptom.

While these symptoms are unpleasant, it’s usually quite simple to treat uncomplicated UTIs. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, make sure your urine gets tested as soon as possible. If you are found to have a UTI, you'll be treated with a course of antibiotics to prevent the infection from worsening or spreading to the kidneys.
